Dr. Jaspaul S. Bhangoo | Hemodynamic Support

Hemodynamic support techniques are utilized to optimize cardiovascular function and maintain adequate tissue perfusion in critically ill patients with hemodynamic instability. This may involve interventions such as fluid resuscitation, vasopressor therapy, inotropic support, or mechanical circulatory support devices, depending on the underlying etiology and severity of shock. Dr. Jaspaul S. Fluid resuscitation plays a central role in restoring intravascular volume and improving cardiac preload in patients with hypovolemic or distributive shock. However, careful assessment and monitoring are essential to avoid fluid overload and exacerbation of existing conditions such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) or congestive heart failure. Vasopressor agents, such as norepinephrine or vasopressin, may be administered to augment systemic vascular resistance and maintain blood pressure in patients with distributive or vasodilatory shock.
